Challenge
The objective of this student project was to undertake a comprehensive packaging design direction for Lavazza coffee, a renowned Italian coffee label. The project involved creating a fresh and unique coffee packaging brand, playing with type and illustration, drawing inspiration from the theme of travel nostalgia.
Approach
The first step was to develop distinct packaging concepts for the three coffee blends: Vienna Roast, French Espresso, and Italian Mocha. Each design was to incorporate hand-drawn illustrations of iconic city landmarks from Vienna, Paris, and Rome, respectively, to evoke a sense of wanderlust and connect the coffee experience to these cultural hubs. The next stage involved selecting the appropriate typography to complement the overall design theme. After finalising the digital designs, the project required printing the packaging and conducting a photoshoot to showcase the products in their physical form.
